South Carolina DPH licensed facility classes
This page does not publish a combined South Carolina senior facility total. Nursing homes, community residential care facilities, home health, hospice facilities, hospice programs, adult day care, in-home care, and intermediate care keep their own permit types. A community residential care facility may be marketed as assisted living. That marketing name is not a separate license class, and unlike classes are not relabeled into one census. This page does not rank facilities.

Nursing homes
Permit type HLNURSINGCARE. 192 license rows and 192 license numbers. The DPH comparison document prints state licensure under Regulation 61-17. That document is not this roster. Licensed beds sum to 20,576. Nursing-home beds sum to 20,413, including 1 printed zero. NCF-0579 METHODIST MANOR HEALTHCARE CENTER prints 0 nursing-home beds and 32 institutional beds. Institutional beds are numeric on 91 rows, sum 163, and blank on 101 rows. A blank is not zero. CMS indicator Y is printed on 86 rows and blank on 106 rows. A blank indicator is not a finding that the facility is uncertified. Those identifiers were not joined to CMS surveys.
Community residential care facilities
Permit type HLRESIDENTIALCARE. 428 license rows. Regulation Regulation 61-84, as printed in the DPH comparison document, is the state licensure rule for this class. Facilities in this class may be called assisted living. They are not nursing homes, and the Alzheimer flags on the same rows are not another license class. Unit and care both Y: 137. Unit N and care N: 257. Unit N and care Y: 32. Unit Y and care N: 2. Licensed-number cells sum to 21,164. CRC total beds are populated on 155 rows and sum to 4,887. 273 rows leave CRC total beds blank, and a blank is not zero. Where both fields are populated they are not the same number on every row. LAKESIDE PLACE SENIOR LIVING is CRC-2011 and CRC-2431, both in LEXINGTON. Those are two license rows and were not collapsed. CMS indicator Y is printed on 9 rows.
Home health, hospice, adult day, and in-home care
Home health, HLHOMEHEALTH: 106 license rows. This is not in-home care and not a senior-only census. 14 rows print a restriction, including obstetric patients only and pediatric patients only. 92 leave the restriction blank, and a blank is not a finding of no restriction. ADORATION HOME HEALTH is HHA-0395 in ROCK HILL and HHA-0603 in LANCASTER. The licensed-number column was not treated as beds.
Hospice facilities, HLHOSPICEFACILITY: 13 license rows and 271 licensed beds. No facility row prints CMS indicator Y. Hospice programs, HLHOSPICEPROGRAM: 98 license rows. On every program row the licensed number equals counties served. 24 rows print 46. A sum of those county cells is not a county census and is not a bed count. GENTIVA is HPC-0007 in NORTH CHARLESTON and HPC-0085 in AIKEN. Facilities and programs are not added.
Adult day care, HLADULTDAYCARE: 96 license rows. Participants sum to 5,163 on 95 rows. ADC-0549 A&T ADULT DAY CARE in KERSHAW leaves participants blank, and a blank is not zero.
In-home care, HLINHOMECARE: 1,403 license rows. Every row prints -1 in the licensed-number column. That sentinel is not a bed count and is not zero. Office state is South Carolina on 1,377 rows, North Carolina on 16, and Georgia on 10. An office outside South Carolina does not remove the license and is not a service area.
Intermediate care
These building types are intermediate care facilities. They are not nursing homes and they are not a senior census. Intermediate Care Facilities; 15- Beds: 56 license rows, licensed numbers summing to 462. CMS indicator Y is printed on 55 rows and blank on 1 row. A blank is not a finding of no certification. Intermediate Care Facilities; 16+ Beds: 8 license rows, licensed numbers summing to 1,107, and CMS indicator Y on every row. The two building types are not added.
Inspections, complaints, CMS, and administrators
The CMS survey application is KNOWN for certified nursing facilities. Inspection rows, deficiency rows, and complaint rows were NOT_ACQUIRED. That is not zero surveys and not zero complaints.
